APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) is a cross-industry quality approach which was originally developed by the US automotive industry. This manual provides general guidelines for implementing APQP at all phases of new product and services development, from concept to launch. The approach involves four phases of quality planning carried out against the background of continuous feedback assessment to ensure customer satisfaction and continual improvement. APQP - quality can be planned! The purpose of this manual is to communicate to suppliers (internal and external) and sub-contractors, common Product Quality and control Plan guidelines developed jointly by DaimlerChrysler, Ford and General Motors. This manual provides guidelines designed to produce a product quality plan which will support the development of product or service that will satisfy the customer.
