The subjects covered by the fifth edition of DIN Handbook 404 are steel for mechanical engineering (general and specific), precision steel tubes, steel for toolmaking, open-die steel forgings, spring steel and heat treatment. Handbook 404 contains 38 DIN EN and DIN EN ISO Standards, including nine revisions and one new addition, which reflect new technological developments since the "first generation" European Standards were issued. A comprehensive index gives users a practical overview of the entire series.
