This International Standard specifies requirements for elec-troplated coatings of the intermetallic compound SnNi, with a composition of approximately 65 % (mlm) tin and 35 % (mlm) nickel.

lt does not apply to

1. threaded components ;

2. coatings on sheet, Strip or wire in the unfabricated form, or on articles made from them;

3. coatings on coil springs;

4. electroplating of steels with tensile strength greater than 1 000 MPal) (or of corresponding hardness), because such steels are subject to hydrogen embrittlement (sec 8.2).
