This standard specifies the requirements for the architecture, functions, performance characteristics, environmental monitoring and management of the hangar housing electric multi-rotor unmanned aircraft systems used for power grid inspection. It also includes specific requirements for unmanned aircraft status display, automatic recording of access, automatic charging and discharging of batteries.

The requirements for the hangar architecture, functionality, performance characteristics, environmental monitoring and management, and storage for grid inspection Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) are specified in this standard. Requirements for batteries used in UAS, and information management systems for UAS hangar operations are also defined.
