The purpose of this standard is to specify the characteristics and test methods of the basic materials, geometry, dimensions and quality tests of the double wave profile fence that is part of the metal safety barriers that were widely used in Spain prior to the entry into force of the CE marking for vehicle restraint systems. NOTE After the entry into force of the CE marking for vehicle restraint systems, the manufacturer includes in the technical description of the product the specifications of the component elements of the metal safety barriers, which do not necessarily coincide with those of the elements described in this standard. A double wave profile fence is a one-piece metal element, intended by linking and continuity of several units, to prevent the collision of vehicles with something more dangerous than the barrier itself. This fence is installed with a series of supporting, joining, anchoring and terminal elements that are not the subject of this standard. Neither are the conditions for installation nor the performance of the metal safety barrier specified.
