The purpose of this standard is to specify the characteristics and test methods of the basic materials, geometry, dimensions and quality tests of the accessory elements for metal safety barriers that were widely used in Spain prior to the entry into force of the CE marking for vehicle restraint systems. NOTE: After the entry into force of the CE marking for vehicle restraint systems, the manufacturer includes in the technical description of the product the specifications of the component elements of the metal safety barriers, which do not necessarily coincide with those of the elements described in this standard. Accessory elements are understood to be all those that are necessary for the installation of the barriers, as well as to ensure their correct operation. Signaling and beaconing elements that may be installed on the barriers are not covered by this standard.
