This standard specifies the requirements for the establishment of a quality management system applicable to the Clinical and Dietetic Nutrition Units (CDNU). The scope of the standard encompasses the processes involved in the following aspects: a) Nutritional Risk Screening; b) Management of consultations to the CDNU; c) Nutritional Assessment; d) Nutritional diagnosis and coding; e) Estimation / calculation of total energy expenditure; f) Prescription of nutritional treatment: 1. oral diet, 2. oral nutritional supplements, 3. enteral nutrition, 4. parenteral nutrition; g) Monitoring of the nutritional status and treatment; h) Management of home artificial nutrition; i) Health education and training on care and nutritional treatment.
