This standard specifies performance requirements, design methods (structural and general) and verifications for formwork. The requirements indicated in it are applicable to the different types of formwork that are usually used in construction. Additionally, provisions are established for special rates. This standard does not apply to the specific requirements of those elements that can be incorporated into the formwork in its manufacturing or work phase and are established in other national or European standards. This standard is applicable to both formwork that are built at the place of employment (commonly known as: traditional formwork) and to those built in the factory (industrialized formwork), whether they are standardized modular formwork or standardized custom formwork, both: modular and made to measure , they can be assembled on site or pre-assembled in the workshop. This standard does not apply to metal props or falsework. The owner of the formwork can also act as supplier of the formwork and as installer of the formwork. The manufacturer of the formwork can also act as owner of the formwork.
