The purpose of this standard is to describe the mechanical characteristics, structural tests and test methods to assess the structural strength of both commonly used and special coffins. The tests are applicable to the coffins cited, of any size and shape, and regardless of the materials with which they were constructed. They are also applicable to those coffins intended for incineration only.
