This standard constitutes a system for the exchange of information between Traffic Control Centres of an area or region (Zonal Traffic Control Centre) and other systems or Institutions. The goal is to have a standard platform delivering the real-time publication of traffic, meteorological and signalling parameters, enabling several systems to exchange information and consult historical and statistical information. Hereinafter the information exchange system which is the subject of this standard will be referred to as Sistema INTERCENTROS. The procedure for exchange is based on the use of centralised databases where the management systems will upload both real-time information (equipment states and alarms and the parameters provided by them, detailed road traffic information, etc.) and historical information (only data). As one example of use, based on the information exchange method described by this standard, the information updated in real time by the Zonal Traffic Control Centres could be displayed on the operation interfaces of the Traffic Management System at the Centre of Centres.
