This standard includes specifications for the collection and classification of textile waste to facilitate its reuse or recycling according to the waste hierarchy. That is, the object is to ensure the high quality of second-hand textiles for reuse and/or as adequate feed for the subsequent recycling process. The standard is aimed at industry professionals along the textile value chain, such as textile producers, importers and retailers, organizations active in sorting and recycling collected post-consumer textile waste, as well as other stakeholders such as municipalities, legislators and general public.
