This standard specifies requirements for the design, construction, installation and maintenance of pedestrian doors, powered or manual, designed to give access to operating rooms, cleanrooms or controlled environment rooms. This standard is intended to be used by buyers, suppliers and operating rooms, cleanrooms and controlled environment rooms designers. When proposing any deviation from this standard, an agreement should be reached between the owner, the manufacturer and the installer of the door, stating the justified reasons of the deviation. This standard does not cover other requirements, different from the air quality of cleanrooms, for example, fire resistance / smoke control and use in explosive atmospheres (ATEX).
