This standard specifies the requirements related to office furniture, establishing the requirements based on the behavior with the use in office furniture (tables, cabinets, filing cabinets, and screens) of the following materials: particle boards, fiber boards, particle boards melamine, steel sheets, locks, handles, plastics, upholstery, decorative laminates, paints, adhesives and metal coatings. This standard is not intended to limit the materials that can be used in the manufacture of office furniture, there is no restriction on the design of the furniture and the type of final consumer.
