This British Standard specifies a system of designating the sizes of children’s and infants’ garments that are classified as:

1. covering the upper body only, or
2. covering the lower body only, or
3. covering the whole body.¹⁾

Both the control dimensions on which the size designation system is based, and the method of indicating the size designation on a garment label, are specified.

It is recognized that height is the basic control measurement for all infants’ and children’s garments and to aid users of this standard agreed height intervals are included.
