This Part of BS 5502 gives recommendations on the siting, construction, environmental and safety aspects concerned with the design of chemical stores on agricultural and horticultural premises.

This Part of BS 5502 is not applicable to those buildings which are intended for the storage of chemicals in commercial quantities (in excess of 1000 L or the equivalent in kilograms) or for the storage of veterinary medicines, fertilizers, fuels or other flammable materials and explosives.
