Part 2 - This international standard is the second part in the ISO 19650 series on building information modelling (BIM). This part supplies information management requirements in the delivery phase of assets.

Part 3 - This international standard covers information management requirements while the built asset is operational.

Part 5 - This international standard sets out requirements for the security-minded management of sensitive information within building information modelling (BIM).

PD 19650-0:2019  supplies   transitional guidance and it's included on this offer.

Who is this standard series kit for?

  • Those involved in the procurement, design, operations, maintenance, construction and/or commissioning of built assets
  • For owners and operators of built assets of all sizes and levels of complexity from individual buildings and portfolios of buildings (government and commercial) to infrastructure networks (rail, road etc), and pieces of infrastructure (bridges, flood prevention etc).

It outlines concepts and principles for information management at a stage of maturity described as “building information modelling (BIM) according to ISO 19650”.

It also provides recommendations for a framework to manage information including exchanging, recording, versioning and organizing for all actors.

It applies to the whole life cycle of a built asset, including strategic planning, initial design, engineering, development, documentation and construction, day-to-day operation, maintenance, refurbishment, repair and end-of-life.

Use of this standard will help remove barriers to collaborative working and competitive tendering across borders and increase opportunities. As well, the production and use of asset and project information models can also reduce risks and cost.

This standard series kit will help asset owners and operators achieve their business objectives through effective and efficient production, use, and management of information throughout the operational and end-of-life phases of assets where building information modelling is used.
