DESCRIPTION

BS G 243:1990

This standard BS G 243:1990 Specification for igniter cables for engine use (4 kV d.c.) is classified in these ICS categories:
  • 49.050 Aerospace engines and propulsion systems

This British Standard specifies the physical properties and performance requirements for high energy igniter cables of sizes 030 and 050 which are suitable for working at voltages of not more than 4 kV d.c.

The cables are suitable for continuous use where the maximum stabilized conductor temperature does not exceed 260 °C, and for applications involving flexing at temperatures down to – 65 °C.

NOTE 1 The latest revision of an Aerospace standard is indicated by the prefix number.

NOTE 2 The titles of the publications referred to in this standard are listed on the inside back page.

Requirements and tests for a range of aircraft engine ignition cables suitable for use on high energy ignition circuits with working voltages not exceeding 4 kV DC.
