IEEE 280-2021

This standard covers letter symbols used to represent physical quantities in the field of electrical science and electrical engineering. These symbols are independent of the units employed or special values assigned. Also included are selected symbols for mathematics and for physical constants.

This standard provides a basic reference for letter symbols, and corresponding units, in the field of electrical science and electrical engineering. It is intended to be used by producers of technical documents and for the interpretation of such documents.
