The purpose of this standard is to describe the procedure for the authorised agent to carry out the initial and periodic inspections provided for in the regulations in force or ordered by the Competent Authority, in order to check the regulatory conditions of the low voltage electrical installations. The following procedure is applicable in the initial and periodic inspections of low voltage electrical installations , as well as their extensions and modifications, included in the Electrotechnical Regulations for low voltage approved by Royal Decree 842/2002 of 2 August 2002 and amended by Royal Decree 1053/2014 of 12 December 2014. This standard does not contemplate those additional requirements to the Low Voltage Electrotechnical Regulations approved by the Autonomous Communities or which are derived from the application of particular specifications of the supply companies as described in Article 14 of the REBT. The purpose of this Part 1 is to provide a general inspection procedure applicable to all low voltage electrical installations subject to the inspection regime. The requirements for specific installations subject to inspection will be covered in subsequent parts of this family of standards.
