This standard is applicable to all those solutions that aim to perform the function of a "General Power Line Protection System (PSL)", as stipulated in the Complementary Technical Instruction ITC-BT-52 "Installations with special purposes. Infrastructure for recharging electric vehicles" of the Electrotechnical Regulation for Low Voltage (REBT), in order to protect the General Power Line (GPL) against overloads due to a higher energy demand from electric vehicle recharging stations than the GPL was designed. This standard is intended to provide guidelines and information regarding the minimum functionalities that an PSL must meet, as well as the minimum security requirements. This standard does not define specific technological solutions that can meet these functionalities and minimum security requirements, thus enabling all possible options, such as: " unique product dedicated to the PSL function; " set of products and measures dedicated to the PSL function; " home automation / building automation systems that incorporate, among others, the PSL function; " hardware and/or software solutions; " etc.
