The purpose of this standard is to define the characteristics and establish the test methods for electro-welded steel mesh for structural use as reinforcement for concrete and its constituent elements (B 500 S bars), as well as the conditions for controlling all of these characteristics. The requirements of this standard apply to electro-welded steel mesh for reinforced concrete reinforcement manufactured with corrugated or ribbed steel bars in accordance with Standard UNE 36068. This standard does not apply to electro-welded mesh manufactured with smooth steel bars.
