This document specifies the requirements for individual knee pads combined with garments (type 2) for use by work in kneeling position. IMPORTANT - As a combination of garment and pad, these forms of knee protection are thus subject to a joint examination obligation. A specific combination of garment and pad based on interoperability is described in prEN 14404-4 and are excluded of this part. The position of type 2 knee protectors in or on trousers can be fixed or adjustable. The pads consist of foam plastic or other materials that are positioned in knee pockets of the garments or permanently fastened in or on the garments.
